‘Have a barren wall in need of art?’ The story about an event ‘Local Lens at CityArt’ poses that question. Large, canvass-wrapped photos of York County scenes, courtesy of York Daily Record/Sunday News and Evening Sun in Hanover photographers will be on display on June 6, 2014 at First Friday in York. Proceeds will go to Olivia’s House, a grief center for children. This is one of the photos. (See second photo below). See the entire photo lineup at Local Lens. This 2010 photo shows some fishing fun in Lake Marburg waters under the bridge at Codorus State Park. So, the question again: Have a barren wall in need of York County, Pa., art? Also of interest: Check out this art exhibit from First Fridays past.

Apollo Training
These intriguing scenes are pretty unforgettable. Apollo astronauts practiced lunar work the terrain of Hawaii. Check out: Apollo training.

Interesting article: Many people gain strength in the litany of Abraham Lincoln’s failures. Here a story – which I’ve titled Failure at 50 – on that list. Take heart.

This short video tells about the new bell clanging from the Colonial Courthouse’s cupola in York.

History mystery: Many have memories of Melvin’s. Click on the links to enjoy.
