A visit to Wolf

Editor Jim McClure, reporter Lauren Boyer, photographer Kate Penn and I visited Wolf building products’ facility on West Market Street today to hear a presentation on the company’s new business model from chairman and CEO Tom Wolf.
He’s excited about the company’s new approach, which involves marketing its own brand of quality kitchen cabinets and other building products.
The best part: All of the products are made in the United States by American workers.
The products, which Wolf distributes, are made by various U.S. manufacturers – including cabinets manufactured by an Amish company in Indiana. Mr. Wolf said U.S. Sen. Bob Casey recently visited and joked that he would have to tease his Indiana colleagues in the Senate that a company from Pennsylvania was creating jobs in Indiana.
Speaking of politics: Wolf, a former Pennsylvania Revenue Secretary and prominent local Democrat, said he never gave a moment’s thought to running for the congressional seat being vacated by Rep. Todd Platts this year.
