What we’re working on: Nov. 29

Here’s a look at our news budget at this hour for tomorrow’s paper. It also reflects much of what you’ll see on our website during the day.

Our budgets can and often will change a lot between now and tonight: Some stories will change as new information comes in, some stories will be added to the budget and other will be taken off.

What questions do you have about stories we’re working on, or about the budget form itself? Do you know of something we should be covering that you don’t see on the budget? Let us know by commenting here. And, check out our Google+ page for more conversation about how we’re covering the news.

MAIN ART: SLUG: UNSLUGGED — Northeastern students have been learning about the principles of buoyancy, drag, etc. and how they relate to swimming and boating. As a unit project, students are building a cardboard boat that will hold two of their group members. The boats will be placed into the water (with the students inside) and hopefully raced the length of the pool (down and back). (Mason)

SLUG: TAX1130 — shopping online offers convenience and deals, but the tax implications may come back to haunt participants. Starting with 2011 returns, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue will begin asking households to include online purchases that didn’t charge sales tax. If filers save their receipts they have the option of paying the actual amount of the uncharged sales tax; otherwise the amount may be estimated based on their income. (Wislock)
