Yorktowne Hotel owners are behind on loan payments – have defaulted, in fact – meaning the landmark downtown York building is set to go to sheriff’s sale in early 2011.
So, the tall building’s future is in doubt.
After scrolling through photos of the Yorktowne in the York Daily Record/Sunday News’ archives, I couldn’t imagine where all the groups that meet there meet without the Yorktowne.
Indeed, York without the Yorktowne is just unimaginable. In fact, there could be no greater loss to the downtown.
