Let us stand up for the government, and all bear against the rebel.&#8221; The York Civil War Roundtable, scheduled to start meeting at the York County Heritage Trust, 250 E. Market St., will explore regional Civil War history, such as the Battle of Hanover. (Drawing courtesy of the York County Heritage Trust.)<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nAfter years at Borders Books and other locales, the York Civil War Round Table has found a new home at the York County Heritage Trust.<br \/>\nThe roundtable&#8217;s first program, free and open to the public, in its new location is set for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17. Dr. Charles C. Fennell, Jr., will discuss &#8220;The other Side of the Story.&#8221; &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nFennell will give an overview of the events on the last day of fighting at Gettysburg and then focus on Trimble&#8217;s and Pettigrew&#8217;s role in Pickett&#8217;s Charge. Their units became separated from Longstreet&#8217;s &#8211; or Pickett&#8217;s main thrust &#8211; at the Union center in July 3 fighting. Their work that day often has been overlooked.<br \/>\nFennell serves on the staff at the Gettysburg campus of Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC).<br \/>\nThe licensed battlefield guide at the national park in Gettysburg will also lead a battlefield walk at a later date. Details will be given at the Oct. 17 meeting.<br \/>\n<em>&#8211; (Update: The local roundtable is meeting on the third Wednesday of every month at the York County Heritage Trust.
