What did Tiny Tim and Richard Nixon have in common?

Both stayed at the landmark Yorktowne Hotel, placed on the sales block last week.
The landmark York hotel was completed in 1925 and would soon boast of a guest register that tells a story of York County social and cultural life… .

Bill and Hillary Clinton’s signatures in 1992 were just two among many celebrities who signed the guest book. Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Henry Aaron, Bob Hope, Willard Scott and York County’s own Major League catcher Butch Wynegar were part of the diverse group of nationally known people who stayed overnight at the Yorktowne.
Who was the first guest?
As “Never to be forgotten” tells it:

“C. Goetting, a Philadelphia businessman, becomes the Yorktowne’s first guest. He stays there before the hotel officially opens. ‘Since that time, quite a number of others have been given accommodations in the Yorktowne,’ a newspaper reported, ‘but there can be only one first guest, and that one is Mr. Goetting.’ ”
