These 12 links will take you down memory lane in York County, Pa.
Mention the Lincoln Highway Garage to longtime York countians, and you’ll get a flood of memories. Here it is about 15 years before its demolition in 2004. This is a York County Heritage Trust photo. The trust has a large repository of old postcards and photos of such York County, Pa., landmarks. Also of interest: York, Pa.’s, unforgettable landmark: Lincoln Highway Garage
Sue K., as we’ll call her, is looking for local artists who might have paintings and photos of memorable places in York County from her childhood.
I referred Sue to Fredericksburg, Va., artist Cliff Satterthwaite, who lived here in for all or part of the 1950s to 1980s. (Sue should check out the York County Heritage Trust, too.)
Sue provided a list of several memorable places. You’ll find Cliff’s work in several of the links that I sent Sue, below.

The only one of Sue’s queries that I couldn’t come up with was an old photo of the Gospel Center on Pine Street. (But here’s a photo of the church’s former camp – Pamadeva at Smith Station outside Hanover.) If you have other artists or photos of these places, please comment below.
I told Sue – and you – that if you want to find something on this blog, you can search the blog via its search box or do what I do, for say, Bury’s burgers: Google – “www.yorktownsquare.com and Bury’s burgers.”
