Ex-York countian Steve Zirnkilton has performed in every ‘Law & Order’ show
I e-mailed him back in the affirmative and sent him this York Town Square link: York native Steve Zirnkilton’s ‘Law & Order’ voice known to the world.
The reader noted that his father, Frank, was a pilot for York’s S. Morgan Smith, and his mother, Jane, is of the S. Morgan Smith family.
A member of S. Morgan Smith’s church, First Moravian, told me that Steven Morgan Zirnkilton is named after Stephen Morgan Smith, S. Morgan Smith.
Here’s that Q & A:
Q. Who says the lead-in to the Law & Order shows? My husband says it’s actor Johnny Messner (Cold Case), and I say it’s not.
Debbie Stanley, Titusville, Fla.
A. His is one of the USA’s most famous faceless and nameless voices – and Steve Zirnkilton is just fine with that. “I feel very fortunate to be part of something so successful,” says Zirnkilton, 51, who has narrated the intros of all the Law & Order spinoffs, as well as the just-canceled original. Indeed, Zirnkilton is the sole cast member who has appeared in every show. “This is my identity,” he says. “It will probably be on my tombstone.”
