Nasty York County weather brings 7 bright – and sad – news coverage moments

A Lewisberry borough building, partially leased out to the Fairview Township Fire Department, suffered a partial roof collapse over what was the social hall on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. Parts of the remaining roof are bowing under the weight of snow and ice, and the entire building has been deemed structurally unstable. The National Weather Service predicted a total of 10-18 inches of snow will have fallen by the conclusion of a storm that began late in York County, Pa., on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, and continued through Thursday afternoon. 4. Ugh. Hate seeing this. The storm took caused the room the collapse in part of the Lewisberry Fire Hall. Look through the open door at the damage.

5. And you hate to see this. A heater malfunction caused a fire Friday at historic Asbury Church in York. Fortunately, the fire was quickly contained. Also of interest: Preachers on horseback founded Asbury church.
