Spring Garden Township, Pa.’s Fred Rosenmiller’s love for four-wheeled vehicles is well known, and it even extended to cars energized by foot power. This pedal car was one of scores of mostly York County-related items recently auctioned from Rosenmiller’s collection, accumulated over six decades. The Rosenmiller collection of vintage York County-made automobiles – mostly measured by horsepower – is well-known. ‘This gentleman has a great collection of everything,’ one auction-goer told the York, Pa., Daily Record/Sunday News about Rosenmiller’s antiques: Rosenmiller collection hits the auction block . “It’s estate planning,” Rosenmiller said, “but I’m doing it while I’m still above ground.” Also of interest: U.S. 30 Drag-O-Way, Part 4: York County’s love affair with its cars.
The York Daily Record/Sunday News via its flagship website ydr.com is putting its Media Center of locally generated photographs to good use.
The Media Center now can showcase slideshows of local photos, including this exhibit from the Rosenmiller auction. For some time, the Media Center has showcased national photographs.
Viewers are increasing finding the local shows – like these decks of Gettysburg 150 slides. The Media Center on ydr.com should top 50,000 page views this month, powered by this local emphasis.
