Part II: Who is rightful owner of area boys’ basketball scoring record?

Red Lion, Pa., Christian School’s Logan Steckel, right, receives congratulations from Frank Hawkins last week. Steckel passed Hawkins to become York County’s leading scorer in boys or girls basketball. (See photograph of York Catholic’s Kady Schrann after passing a scoring milestone on the girls’ side. Also of interest: Story answers much about great athlete Hinkey Haines, including origin of his nickname and Central York High School’s Laura Beveridge: ‘I certainly have not forgotten her’ and York athlete series: ‘Arguably the best girls’ volleyball player the area has ever seen’.

When York Catholic’s Jacob Iati surpassed Kennard-Dale’s Adam Miller for the boy’s county career scoring title, we asked the question: Who is rightful owner of area boys’ basketball scoring record?
That question arose because Iati was still behind Red Lion Christian’s Frank Hawkins, whose scoring mark the York Catholic guard never reached. One argument is that Red Lion Christian plays weak competition compared to what York Catholic faces in YAIAA competition. And non-YAIAA athletes can start competing at earlier grades.
Now comes Logan Steckel surpassing schoolmate Hawkins record… .

Kady Schrann of York Catholic received the game ball after recently scoring her 2,000th point against Biglerville.
So the question remains: Who is rightful owner of area boys’ basketball scoring record?
Feel free to weigh in on this Exchange thread.
