Remember going down to Gettysburg to see the old Electric Map at the old Gettysburg Visitors Center in the old days? Now, those with Civil War interests will have a chance to see the old Electric Map in a new location – Hanover. It’s expected to open this summer, according to the Evening Sun in Hanover: Electric Map pieces fall into place. Owner Scott Roland sees it as a tourism play for Hanover. ‘If even 5 percent of the tourists who visited the map in Gettysburg pay to see it in Hanover, it could lead to a boom for all of the borough’s businesses,’ he told The Evening Sun. He estimated that 1/4 of Gettysburg visitors would visit the map.  (See two photos of the map being lifted – and then settled – into its new Hanover home.) Also of interest: It soon will be the Hanover Electric Map.
