Good day in Glen Rock, Pa., Part I


Glen Rock, Pa., celebrates two pieces of its past on Sept. 29. The community will dedicate a plaque at the Glen Rock Theatre, built as a band hall for its community band and famed composer Roland F. Seitz. The community Depression-era Civilian Conservation Corps. camp living history event is set earlier that day. Check out the Glen Rock Historical Preservation Society website for more details. Chalmers Sechrist Jr., whose family has a long association with the Glen Theatre, will talk about the 100-year-old building and its various uses on Sept. 29.

Several months ago, he presented this history of the old band hall/movie theatre.
