Check out these links for genealogists to query when looking for long lost York County relatives
What are some sources to query, if you’re undertaking genealogical research in York County?
I tried to answer that question in a recent presentation to the Susquehanna Trail Genealogy Club.
Putting myself in the place of a genealogist, here are the first six places I’d place a query in looking for information about, say, a 19th-century relative from York County:
1. Weekly Record – weekly@ydr.com.
2. The Exchange – http://exchange.ydr.com. This is a York Daily Record/Sunday News operated community bulletin board.
3. Commenting, www.ydr.com – If you see a story on ydr.com that touches on a name that you’re researching, ask about that in the “commenting” feature at the bottom of the story.
4. Blogs – www.yorktownsquare.com, www.yorkblog.com/onlyyork, www.yorkblog.com/universal.
5. Twitter – www.twitter.com.
6. Facebook – www.facebook.com.
