Can anyone ID the young woman in the picture? Mystery solved.

Joanne M. Grim is seen the Red Lion High School yearbook for 1957. She is the lovely young woman in the photograph found by a Virginia man on eBay. (See that photograph below.) Here’s another inquiry that our readers helped solve: Monumental mystery solved: Wandering woman cemetery marker sits in Carlisle.

When he emailed a query to yorktownsquare.com, Tom Waters from Lively, Va., set off a quest to identify the young woman in a photograph he purchased on eBay.

I put it on my blog (Can anyone ID the young woman in the picture?), on my and the YDR Facebook accounts, my Twitter account and in the York Daily Record/Sunday News. Buffy Andrews posted the photograph on her Buffy’s World blog.

Tom received several leads and so did I.

They led to … .

… . Joanne Grim Taylor.

Here is a note from her daughter, Cherie Taylor, who wrote that her mother now resides in Lancaster County:

“The young woman in the picture is my mother. She won this contest. She was a bank manager for York Federal and York Bank for many years.

“She went to school in a one room school house in the Brogue. Went to RedLion High School and has been married to Ted Taylor for 54 years.”

Cherie then gave this piece of insight:

“Her life story is a fantastic one.”

No doubt, and we thank Cherie for sharing.

Here are comments on the original yorktownsquare.com post asking readers to ID the young woman in the picture:

My sincere thanks to you all for your help in identifying Joanne Grim, who graduated from Red Lion High School in 1957. Especially I would like to thank Jim McClure who so kindly posted the picture in the first place. Bless you all.
