Bury’s Famous Hamburgers are a standard treat at York Little League games

The printing on this photograph shows the consumption of Bury’s Famous Hamburgers at the York Fair circa 1940. Bury’s burger stands remain a staple of the York Fair. And those red-sauced covered burgers are available in another season in York – Little League baseball season. Also of interest: This is the season when Bury’s World Famous Hamburgers reigns as burger king and Teddy Roosevelt in York: ‘I know York county farmers are prosperous. Their barns are bigger than their houses’ and 5,000 Penn Park fans witnessed first York night baseball .

Steve Busch of York City Little League read a recent post about Bury’s World Famous Hamburgers in the paper, or maybe online.
Anyway, he provided a piece of helpful information.
Bury burger lovers can get the iconic York County burger in the summer, too.
Here’s Steve:

“Ahhhh…Bury burgers!!
“I’d like to let you and others who crave the ‘authentic’ Bury Burgers in on a well kept secret:
“1. You can get one at the York Fair
“2. And you can get one at Allen Field during a York City Little League game at the concession stand
“The niece of Joe Bury and the family that runs the stand at the fair are the concessionaires at our Little League games; authentic Bury Burgers are standard faire for parents, youth and spectators at all our games throughout the week. So come on out and watch a game and satisfy that craving for an authentic Bury’s Famous Burger in tomato sauce, with onions of course.”

Go to Allen, Steve wrote, and you might see the family matriarch and niece of hamburger chain owner Joe Bury serving up the delicious burger at the park’s concession stand.
