YorksPast Lineup for Week of September 10th and Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden Revisited

Unfortunately something came up that will NOT allow me to post this week.  I expect to be back with a full week of posts starting Monday September 10th.

YorksPast Lineup for the Week of September 10th

  • Monday 9/10:  Maps plus promoting One Room Schools Talk by Stewartstown Historical Society: September 12, 2012 – 7:00 PM; Location: Heritage Hall, Stewartstown Methodist Church.
  • Tuesday 9/11:  York County One-Room Schools (H-K)
  • Wednesday 9/12:  Saga of Billmeyer & Small; John D. Denney, Jr., Part 2
  • Thursday 9/13:  Railcar Gold, Chapter 2, Part 1
  • Friday 9/14:  Enhancing Family Histories Part 2, Ancestors’ Land

Two days after I did the post on Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden this past Wednesday, this memorial garden was a stop on a daily walk.  Several people recognized me from that post and told me that was the reason they stopped to see it.  They told me that they were going to sponsor some bricks and wanted to see things written on bricks that were already placed.  I’m revisiting a short section from that post last Wednesday, since this will be the lead YorksPast post for a week.

Although the garden is complete, I understand about 25% still needs to be raised to pay off all the outstanding costs.  I’m going to get three adjacent bricks inscribed as follows to honor the service of my Dad and my Nephew.  Why not consider doing likewise by inscribing several bricks.  Check the web site www.goldstargarden.com
