Reading the HEADLINES: An Index to ALL YorksPast posts – Old

Reading the Headlines, from Selected YorksPast Posts (2013, S. H. Smith)

Last year within days of my post Marking 100th YorksPast Post with a Tiled Mosaic; Post Index and Future Plans, several readers told me that they really liked the index for quickly discovering my older posts. As a result I started to add that link at the end of all new posts.

Last week one of those readers told me, “It’s just like reading the headlines on various pages or sections of the newspaper.” She liked using my listing of headlines sorted into broad categories; especially the ability to virtually see all headlines in each section, all at one time.

I have to admit, that I’ve used this more then any other of the many methods to go to a specific older post. Thus this post: Reading the HEADLINES; An always-up-to-date Quick Index to ALL YorksPast Posts.

ALL YorksPast HEADLINES are sorted into one of the following eleven categories (Headlines are only listed once under the broadest category)

  • About YorksPast and Memories
  • East Prospect
  • Keystone Markers
  • Lower Windsor Township
  • One-Room Schools
  • Railcar Gold
  • Railcar Historical Background
  • Spring Garden Township
  • Springettsbury Township
  • Top 50 York County Factories at End of 19th Century
  • Various Locations

Updates To Older YorksPast Posts

If you’ve checked the one-room schoolhouse index lately, you’ve noticed that I’m continuing to update the location index as additional sources come to light. This will continue as an ongoing update on a schoolhouse-by-schoolhouse basis. When major updates are done, posts will point this out along with features on selected schoolhouses.
