The association of Penn State with York County to provide specialized technical education began in 1926. For the initial two decades that connection was primarily through evening courses held at the Y.M.C.A. or at York High. Penn State’s second York County dedicated facility providing full daytime specialized technical courses was located across Carlisle Avenue from the York Fairgrounds between the Fall of 1950 until the Spring of 1953.
