You’ll be seeing more Krauthammer columns
As Assistant Managing Editor of Features and Niche Publications, it’s my job to purchase features for the newspaper. This includes items like comics and columns and puzzles.
Part of this process involves meeting with representatives from numerous syndicates that represent the creators of these products and negotiating the contracts.
So yesterday, I added Charles Krauthammer to our portfolio. Our editorial page editor, Scott Fisher, had been evaluating the weekly political column and decided he wanted to add it permanently. That’s where I came in to negotiate the contract.
In addition to writing his weekly column, Krauthammer is also a Fox News commentator, appearing nightly on “Special Report with Bret Baier,” and a panelist on “Inside Washington.”
Krauthammer joined The Washington Post as a columnist in 1984, and he received the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1987.
Here are some factoids:
–He was a speechwriter for Vice President Walter Mondale in 1980
–He helped direct planning in psychiatric research for the Carter administration
–He practiced medicine for three years as a resident and then chief resident in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital.
–He was born in New York City and grew up in Montreal, Quebec.
–He attended McGill University, Balliol College, Oxford and Harvard Medical School.
