In one of many efforts we make to get local voices in print and online, YDR annually selects a group of local folks to act as community columnists. The seven columnists write on a rotating basis in our Sunday Viewpoints section – and, of course, their pieces are posted at ydr.com<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n

This year we had 37 people apply for the “job” (unpaid) — more applications than ever before. Congratulations to our new group and thank you for your willingness to share your voices with our readers. New columnists, in order of appearance beginning Jan. 8 are: Cara Achterberg, Robert Hahn, Sandra Gordon, Joel Ogle, Sandra Thompson, George Haldeman, Priscilla Hoffman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
