Socializing York: The many ways we are interacting with readers
Our newsroom is daily – hourly – interacting with our readers through social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, blogging.
So when Digital First Media’s widely consulted social media guru Steve Buttry asked for an overview of the ways we’re engaging with our readership, we were eager to oblige.
We’ve adapted that overview for a YDR Insider page to bring readers in, too, on many of the ways we’re reaching out to you. This social media effort is not an adjunct or add on to what we do. It’s interwoven, integrated into our newsgathering, content distribution and, heck, all our news processes. Check out Socializing York, and let us know what you think.
And check out Steve Buttry’s blog The Buttry Diary, a go-to source for many in our newsroom to understand the best thinking in the digital first revolution under way in American media. (And see his post incorporating YDR/YSN’s own Buffy Andrews’ views on using the Twitter dashboard Hootsuite to perform daily beat checks.)
