Darisabel Baez, 2 years old, died at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend. Her death caused a community outcry against child abuse, and York, Pa., Daily Record/Sunday News visual journalist Jason Plotkin’s documentary ‘Carrying Darisabel’ help focus that emotion into useful action. Today, the documentary won an international award.

I love that our reporters are shooting videos to go with their stories. Each reporter has a Flip cam, and they often shoot and edit videos that accompany those produced by our professional photographers. When I started out in this business years ago, the idea of reporters shooting videos would
