75-year-old Audrey Noll, who delivers the York Daily Record, wins Pennsylvania NewsMedia Foundation Senior Carrier award

Audrey Noll, who delivers the York Daily Record/Sunday News in the City of York, received third place in the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Foundation Senior Carrier of the Year contest.
District Manager Laura Matthews nominated the 75-year-old for the award.
“She is there every day to do her paper,” Laura wrote in her nomination of Audrey. “She is a funny lady. Her route is in the city, and most of the deliveries are porch.”
Laura told a story about Audrey Noll’s dedication.
Delivering a route one day, Audrey fell and broke two ribs. Still, she showed up every day and didn’t tell other carriers.
It took three days before Audrey told Laura. Laura noticed she was “walking funny.”
“I made her go see a doctor,” she said.
There’s another story about Audrey and a fellow carrier, who delivers newspapers on his bike.
Audrey helps that carrier when the weather is bad.
“I told her she didn’t have to do that… .” Laura said. But Audrey just wanted to help where she could.
Audrey cleans houses as a second job and takes care of her wheelchair-bound son, who lives with her.
It was fitting that Audrey was honored at a banquet in Hershey called the “Luncheon of Champions.”
“Did I forget to say she runs her paper to the doors too?” Laura wrote.
