Waffles and chicken, the definitive recipe
Well, as promised, I got a waffles-and-chicken “recipe” from my friend Megan. (Thanks, Megan!) The funny thing is, I could have totally figured this one out for myself, but I thought it had to be more complicated.
Megan says. “Waffles are GREAT with chicken and gravy! … I actually do not have an exact recipe. My brother makes it sometimes. But the easiest way to make it would be to buy a whole roasted chicken (you know, like the already cooked ones at the grocery store). Pick the meat off of the bones, and warm it up on the stovetop or in the crockpot with some gravy (homemade or jarred). Then just pour it over waffles!”
Man, even I can manage that. I’m still not sure how I feel about gravy-ing my nice waffles, but I’m willing to consider it. I’ve had chicken-and-gravy over biscuits before, so it can’t be that different, right?
