Names of York: Norman A. Trimmer

I promised this year would be full of cool stuff, including a “Names of York” series on people for whom places around town are named. I’m kicking it off with a special one, just for fun – my daughter’s elementary school.

Place: Norman A. Trimmer Elementary School, Brenda Road (off Sunset Lane), West Manchester Township (West York Area School District)

Who was it named after? Norman A. Trimmer, a landowner and board member in the school district for 27 years.

Fun fact: Trimmer Elementary used to be called Sunset Lane Elementary.

Do you have a suggestion of a place in York County named for a person? If so, post a comment! I’m going to work my way through some likely ones, such as schools and parks, but I need other suggestions too!
