Who was it named after? Helen Thackston was the director of Crispus Attucks Early Learning Center from 1932 to 1964.

Interesting fact: The Thackston charter school operates now at 625 E. Philadelphia St., York, and serves sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. It is looking to build a new facility at 1195 Roosevelt Ave. in York when financing comes through.
