Names of York: George Leib

More in the ongoing series on the Names of York.

Place: Leib Elementary School, Dover Township (Dover Area School District)

Who was it named after? George N. Leib was a longtime teacher and principal in the Dover district.

Fun fact: This name was suggested by my friend Tracey, who went to Mr. Leib’s namesake school. The school was dedicated in 1963, and a large addition was put on in 1975.
