More nice Yorkers and good customer service
So, around Christmastime, I had posted about some nice people I encountered while out and about in York.
This week, I had two more above-and-beyond niceness encounters that I also thought were worth mentioning.
First, Bev at the Pizza Hut on Loucks Road, who took my call when I was hoping to get one of those neat “Double Deep” pizzas they’d be advertising on TV. I haven’t ordered a pizza in about four years (don’t laugh!), so I had no idea how this whole thing might work. And when she told me they didn’t have the Double Deeps anymore, I didn’t quite know what to get. But she was very patient, and explained all my different sauce and crust and topping options.
I think my favorite part was when she asked if I was sitting down before giving me the price. More than 14 bucks for a medium pizza? But I went with the hand-tossed, one topping on the whole thing then different toppings on each half on top of that, so I can kind of understand. But, wow… I know why I don’t do the pizza thing that often, that’s for sure!
Another nice Yorker came, coincidentally, just a couple of blocks behind that Pizza Hut at the Susquehanna Bank. I pulled up with a deposit at almost exactly 6 p.m., their closing time. The woman inside took off her coat, greeted me politely, thanked me, then offered my daughter not only a lollipop but also a sheet of stickers.
If you’ve had any good experiences at places you visit in your York County wanderings, let me know!
