How do you pronounce eastern York County’s ‘Kreutz’ Creek?

A couple months ago, we talked about the possible origins of Kreutz Creek‘s name.

Commenter Adam raised a really good question. He writes: “Here’s a question, how is Kreutz pronounced? This is a debate I’ve had with a friend – can anyone shed light?”

Dianne says, “I’ve always heard it as ‘Krites’ (long I). It’s a one-syllable word.”

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard that too, but I’ve also heard it pronounced “crew-tz.”

So, it’s time for an unofficial poll! Which do you think?
