Do you remember Avalong’s?
A reader, Kathy Becker, wants to know who remembers Avalong’s near what is now the York Galleria.
She said, “It had a restaurant, ice cream parlor and two miniature golf courses to choose from.”
Jim McClure has some great memories from the Avalong dairy on his York Town Square blog, including something I didn’t know. There’s a rumor out there that broasted chicken was first introduced to the county at that restaurant!
Broasted chicken; now that’s a subject for a future post. For now, do you remember Avalong’s, which had its offices at what we now call Christmas Tree Hill at the Mansion or the Meadowbrook Mansion?
