Event: Antique Appraisal Festival

Event date: August 20, 2016; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It’s time to rummage through all your antiques and curiosities and have them appraised. Just what are they worth if you take them to auction? If you bring them to the Antique Appraisal Festival, sponsored by the Manchester Township Historical Society, an experienced auctioneer from Cordier Appraisers, Harrisburg, will share some history of your piece and give you an estimate of its selling price at auction. If you have large items too bulky to move, photograph them and submit the photos for appraisal.

This year, we’ve wrapped the antique appraisal into a festival with food, music, antique vendors, and living historians all held at Historic Shady Lane, one of York’s newest and most unusual wedding venues. Events kick-off at 10 a.m. with tours of the Shady Lane Estate starting at 11:00 a.m. and noon.

Admission is a $5.00 donation, which includes tours, music, living history, parking, and enjoying the appraisal clinic. Appraisals are $5.00 per item. The Festival is sponsored by the Manchester Township Historical Society (MTHS), a not-for-profit community organization. All funds raised support various educational projects of the Society.

Register at the door on the day of the event. For more information, contact MTHS at 717.467.1732 or at
