Harrisburg Civil War Round Table Explores “Leadership at Antietam”

Captain David Willmann (USN-Ret.) will discuss “Leadership at Antietam” during the Friday, March 26 meeting of the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table. His presentation will focus on enduring leadership principles which were used by the senior commanders during this crucial 1862 campaign, many of which remain applicable in today’s world.
Captain Willmann completed a 30-year active duty career in the U.S. Navy in July 2003. As a Naval Aviator, he has over 3000 flying hours in the SH-2F and SH-60B helicopters in a variety of test and operational assignments. He currently teaches at both the Army War College in Carlisle and the Naval War College, Newport, RI. He also directs leadership staff rides to the Civil War battlefields of Gettysburg, Antietam, and Manassas for various educational institutions, companies, military organizations and government agencies.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Captain Willmann received a Master of Science in Computer Systems Management from the United States Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. He has been a member of the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table since 2001.
The Harrisburg Civil War Round Table meets at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center, Camp Hill, PA, Camp Hill Bypass @ Routes 11&15. An informal reception starts at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner at 6:30. The cost of dinner is $20.00 and reservations must be made by no later than Tuesday, March 23, by calling 717-938-3706.
