Hanover, Pa. moving ahead with plans for dual anniversary plans for 2013
Here is a press release from the organizers of the planned joint anniversary celebrations in Hanover, Pennsylvania, in the summer of 2013.
In 2013 we celebrate Hanover’s 250th Anniversary as well as the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Hanover, the first battle of the Civil War on Free Soil.
Technically speaking, a 250th anniversary is called a Semiquincentennial or Bicenquinquagenary and a 150th anniversary is called a Sesquicentennial.
· Things kick off with a New Years Bash followed by events throughout the year. Highlighting the activities will be a series of events in late June and early July.

· The celebration is geared to all Hanover area residents not only those in the Borough but all surrounding municipalities as well.
