A few more photos from the 2010 Civil War Encampment at Hanover
I spent a very pleasant sunny Sunday afternoon at the Codorus State Park near Hanover, Pa., for the 6th annual Civil War Encampment along the scenic banks of Lake Marburg. Here are a few more photos:
These young lads were having fun with their own sham battle.
A couple of living historians were discussing herbal medicines of the Civil War era. Fascinating discussion, and I learned a few things. The live leeches were a particular hit with the younger crowd!
I stopped off at Hanover Junction on Saturday morning for a scenic walk before I headed down to Hanover. Here is the Lincoln bust, commemorating his November 1863 visit to the junction while en route to Gettysburg for the Gettysburg Address.
The monument was dedicated on Lincoln’s 200th birthday.
