3D photo of Hanover Junction during the Civil War

Recently I posted photos of Hanover Junction, Pennsylvania, from the collection of the Library of Congress. Many of these images were originally halves of stereoscopic photos taken with a stereo camera.

Cannonball reader Hillary Hess went into the LoC digital archives and merged a pair of these vintage stereo photos into a single anaglyph 3D image. If you have a pair of 3D glasses (the ones with a red lens and a blue lens), have a look at this interesting image and be transported back to November 1863 when Matthew Brady’s crew took the above image.
